Tati Beauty launch came out of nowhere and was an incredibly anticipated news in the beauty community. The first launched product was a neutral pallete, very on brand, but I didn't feel like buying it on the first launch. The more I started seeing it and hearing about the glitters, the mattes, the incredible finishes and quality...yeah, I gave in.
The Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals vol. 1 pallete has 24 shades in 6 tones and 4 finishes. It's a very unique and nice concept, I really like it. It comes with a big mirror and it's very heavy and sturdy and feels expensive and it's also very minimal and sleek. That's very accurate feeling, because this pallete is $48. That's not very cheap, however, $2 per eyeshadow doesn't seem like a scam to me, considering everything around it. The shipping and the customs were crazy amount of money, but let's not focus on that. That's just the price you pay for ordering from the US here in Europe.
Let's focus on the pallete. The four finishes are matte, sequin, metallic and glitter. Everybody was loosing their minds over the glitters and honestly I can tell why. The whole pallete looks absolutelly stunning in person. I didn't feel that attracted to it from the online images but from the first time I opened it, I fell in love.
All the shades are very well described on the Tati Beauty website so I won't be coppying that information, you can go and check it out at https://www.tatibeauty.com/products/textured-neutrals-vol-1. But I will say, that the color selection is stunning. In a nutshell, there's Memory (black tones), Ritual (deep brown), Story (burnt orange), Soothe (neutral beige-brown), Aura (pinktoned cream) and Poet (cranberry plum).
There are so many looks you can do with this pallete. It's so versatile and I cannot stop getting creative with it. Even though it's a neutral pallete, something about it is just very exciting and makes me want to create more and more looks.
This pallete is also incredible for travelling. There's everything you need in it and it's very slim and fits everywhere.
Even though there are tons of swatches online, I thought I might do another set of them, just why not. Swatches from every person look different depending on the light and the camera. My setup isn't the best, but I tried to give you a nice represenation of what the shades look like. The sequins and metallics are quite hard to take a photo of, because they have a little hard to capture finishes, but here we go.
The looks
I usually create 5 looks with a pallete to show its potential and really get into the colors and textures. Here we have a lot to play with, so I'll try to not repeat shades in the looks and try as much as possible.
Look 1
I just had to make a plum-toned smokey eye. To be honest the black in this pallete may be my favorite black eyeshadow ever made. It's so easy to use and blends so well that you cannot really go wrong with it.
This look is more of a smokey halo eye with messy glitter spotlight in the middle. I used the shade Poet Matte in my crease, Memory Matte for the inner and outer corner and the lower crease portion which defines the lid. I blended the edges of the Poet Matte shade with a bit of Aura Matte and put Aura Sequin on my brow bone. The whole look takes a lot of going back and forth between adding pigment and blending it away...it takes a while. After the shape and color placement I wanted was achieved, I patted on the Aura Glitter with my finger all the way to the brow bone. I then smoked out my lower lashline with Memory Matte and Poet Matte and added a black liner into my waterline. Here's the look on multiple images as it was really hard to capture the glitter and the whole smoke going on. The Aura Glitter is the most magical glitter I even saw. It's impossible to catch all the colors of it in one photo. There's gold, blue, pink, champagne, brown...it's magical.
Look 2
Since the first look may be a little too much for some people who prefer neutral soft eyeshadow for example for work, here's something a little more muted and less loud. It's a neutral pallete so obviously I have to make a super easy everyday neutral look with it.
This is a lot more muted and less out there simple difused look with a little sparkle and I really enjoy it as well as a full on heavy glam. The majority of the look consists of Matte Soothe which is the main star blended in the crease and blown slightly further then in the last look. A little bit of Matte Ritual was used with a precise brush to deepen the outer V and bring a bit more of definition. Then I packed Sequin Soothe on two third of the lid going from the Matte Ritual going inwards. You have to be careful packing on this color, the gold glitter likes to fly off if you blend it too much. On the inner third of my lid I took a sparse dual-fiber tiny brush I love to use for shimmers. I dusted on mixture of Metallic Aura and Metallic Soothe. As a finishing touch I added Matte Memory and Matte Ritual as a liner to emphasise my eyes a bit more.
The whole complexion is lighter in coverage, glowy and simple. I added just a bit of mascara and a beige gloss to finish the look. It's a lot more sparkly and pretty in person, because the glitters in sequin formula are hard to take a picture of. That's why I tried multiple different light setups, so you can see as real representation of the look as possible.
Look 3
One of the looks just has to be orange and warm, you bet it does. I absolutelly love this look to be honest. Just like all the other ones, but there's something about the neutral burnt orange that just gets me. I did a very similar look to this on one of my friends some time ago and I couldn't be happier to recreate it on myself.
I started with packing Sequin Soothe on the inner third of my whole lid space. The crease, the lid, everywhere, you can even make it into a little nose contour. It has a beautiful spakle to it which really compliments the warmth of the whole look. Next I went in with Matte Story and started building it into the crease starting from where the previous shade ended. I went through the whole crease, winging it out into a V shape. After I had the whole V which connected to the outer part of the lashline, I deepend up the outer V a little deeper in the crease and on the lashline with Sequin Ritual. It has a little less punch than Matte Ritual, so it worked very well for such a shimmery look. After I was happy with the depth, I packed Metallic Story all over the lid being careful not to cover the deepend outer potrion and the shimmery inner portion. After that I took Story Glitter on my finger and did a little transition where the Sequin Ritual meets the Metallic Story. For me, it was somewhere in the middle of the lid. Then I popped Metallic Soothe in to the inner corners. I used e.l.f No Budge Shadow Stick in Bronze Metal to line my waterline halfway through and smoked it out first with Sequin Ritual and then a lot lower with Matte Story.
Look 4
Since I went for a simple everyday look, I thought I might get into a full glam situation with cut crease and all that good stuff. This pallete may seem a little not "instagramabble" enough, because it's not full of crazy brights and stuff like that. But you achieve any glam you want with this pallete. I love that it's neutral so you can kind of lean into warm or cool as much as you want if you mix the colors right.
This look is a very glam winged out cut crease. I wanted to create a more glamorous dark and cool toned look with a subtle pop of shimmer on the lid. I went with more full coverage base, everything powder and a matte liquid lipstick with a champagne topper.
I started with creating the outer shape of the eye with Matte Ritual and Matte Memory. Creating the perfect winged out shape if probably the most difficult part of creating a look like this. When I got it where I wanted, I cut the crease with a concealer about halfway to the lid. Then I started from the outer corner placing Metallic Ritual and afterwards Metallic Aura. It's crucial to blend them properly so you don't get a very harsh line between the two metallics. I did smoke out the bottom lashline with a mixture of Matte Ritual and Matte Memory on the outer half of the lower lashline. And I finished off with placing Soothe Glitter as a liner along the cut crease edge. I added mascara, black liner and a pair of quite subtle lashes and that's it.
Honestly I love this look but I also think that it's possible to do it about hundred times better. There's always room for improvement, especially with these very glamorous looks.
Look 5
I felt like doing something more wild for the final look and I also wanted to show off more of the glitters, which are absolutelly amazing. So here we have a little messy glittery smokey situations I came up with.
This look is fairly easy to make actually. I just started with building up the crease from the inner corner working outwards with Matte Aura, Matte Soothe and Matte Ritual. You can fling it out as much as you want, I wanted to go quite far. Then I took Sequin Memory and packed it all over the lid. It's such a shame that camera doesn't really pick up the sequin shades. This one literally looks like latex when you pat it on. Then, I took Aura Glitter and started pressing it with my finger in the inner corner area and got carried away so I continued below the eye along the side of my nose. The firther I was from the center of my face, the more dispersed I wanted the glitter to be. Lastly I added some Memory Glitter to the center of the lid, connecting with the Aura Glitter. I am honestly obsessed with this. I also feel like the images don't do justice to the blend and it looks more patchy than it actually was for some reason. Also, yes I usually only do one eye, don't judge me.
Final thoughts
I made many more looks with this pallete that just the 5 I have here to show you. Overall, the shadow are incredible. The quality, blendability, pigmentation and performance in general is incomparable. I love formula of majority of the shades. Especially the mattes and the glitters, which are very high quality and are pleasure to work with.
I am a little confused by the sequins, because I'm not used to a formula like this, so I'm not entirely sure how to incorporate them into my looks. I have tried and I will keep trying, but it's a new texture and look to get used to. Other than that, I can see myself using every single shade in that pallete. I just really love them all.
I would absolutelly recommend this pallete to anyone who likes the look of it or needs just one pallete for their whole existence. This could be the pallete in my opinion. I think it's great for professionals and beginers as well, because it's very easy to work with. The price is a little up there but I have paid even more for palletes which don't perform as well. I honestly cannot wait what Tati comes up with next time.
Have you tried this pallete and loved it as much as me? Let me know in the comments below and we can share the joy together. And if not, let me know why, I'd love to know. Thanks for reading!
