SEPHORA | BEST SKIN EVER FOUNDATION + CONCEALER | REVIEW

Sephora Collection is Sephora's own brand that is quite well known for their complexion products. This new launch really caught my eye and since Sephora Collection is quite an affordable brand in terms of Sephora prices, I decided to test it out.

The Sephora Best Skin Ever Longwear Foundation is an anti-pollution everyday makeup for ultra-natural looking skin, perfected look and skin-like finish. It contains hyaluronic acid and algae extract that both hydrate and protect the skin from blue light, pollution and many other harmful elements. It's vegan, non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin types. It should be skin perfecting as well and as you wear it the skin should be glowier, more even and more hydrated.

The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump. I really like the design, it's from frosted glass with matte black lid and pump. It looks pretty lux. You get 25ml of product and it retails for 430 Crowns. There are 45 shades in total and I selected the shade 04 N based on the shade finder app. It's a little light but it matches me quite well.

The Sephora Best Skin Ever High Coverage Concealer launched together with the foundation. It's a high coverage concealer that hides imperfections and dark circles. It also contains algae and hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin and protect it. It's non-comedogenic, vegan and without any fragrance. It's suitable for all skin types.

The concealer comes in a very basic concealer packaging. It's also frosted glass with matte black detais so it matches the foundation design. The wand is slim, flat and very flexible so it seems to be quite nice to work with. The concealer comes in 26 shades and I got the shade 03 which was recommended to me by the app at Sephora website. It's quite light and it probably won't be a great match for me on its own. I am more likely to use it with other darker concealers to lighten them up. In the bottle you get 5ml of product.

Wear test

First, I wanted to wear test the foundation together with the concealer and call it a day but as you'll see, the concealer was kind of making things unsure so I decided to wear them together and then each on its own.

Day 1

I decided to wear both the concealer and the foundation at the same time to see how they work together. I applied the foundation with my Corazona foundation brush and went over it a bit with a Colourpop Pretty Fresh mini sponge. Everything blended really well and the finish of the foundation is very natural, I really like it. It still looks like skin and the coverage is a low-medium so it doesn't look like a mask at all. It also feels incredibly lightweight.

The concealer shade is a little too light for me to wear on its own but I went for it anyway to see how it performs on its own. It has about medium coverage but blends really well. I blended it with the mini sponge and it meshes with the foundation really well. It also feels very lightweight but since it a very light shade, it didn't fully cover my undereye bags. But it worked really well for brightening and it's very lightweight so I think it will be nice for lightening other concealers.

I also used some cream base products to see how the foundation reacts to them and everything blended fine, the foundation stayed put, nothing was picking it up and I am very pleased by this base so far.

Wear time 11 hours

I really like that my skin still looks like skin and there are no major problems with the complexion. There's a little bit of separation between my eyebrows but you can barely notice it, same on my chin. On most areas on my face the foundation looks very natural and nice. It didn't get oily but there's is a little bit of a glow as the natural oils come through. I like that the foundation doesn't feel heavy on the face and that it doesn't even really look like a foundation anymore, it's just my perfected skin. All the products on top have faded a little bit but I don't really mind that.

The concealer didn't really impress me much to be honest. It looks quite dry under my eyes and there's a lot of blueness coming through. I think that the overall look would be a lot better with a different concealer.

What I like about the complexion overall is that even though I did a workout and went outside and wore a mask...it doesn't look demolished. There's a little bit of separating here and there but the overall look of the face is very natural, glowy and skinlike and it doesn't look like a worn out makeup at all.

Day 2 8.3.

I wanted to give a fair shot to the foundation itself because I felt like the first day of wear test was a little off because of the concealer. I used the foundation with a foundation brush and went over some areas with a sponge. I used a gel blush to go for at least one non-powder product.

Wear time 10.5 hours

I would say that the overall look of the base is still pretty great considering how much I've been through today. I spent a lot of time in my mask outside and that really messes up my makeup around my nose and on my chin. Usually it also causes separation on the cheeks. Those are exactly the places where I can see patches missing but I'm pretty sure it was the mask. Overall, I look pretty decent and my skin looks very smooth and the separation is only visible if you come very, very close.

The finish after the 10.5 hours looks a lot more matte than in the morning and my skin feels a little dry. I would recommend a more hydrating primer than the one I've used today. Other than that there's no budging and places where the foundation stayed intacked look really good and very smooth. It also still looks like skin so I think I made up my mind about the longevity of this foundation.

Final thoughts

This foundation has been pretty hyped up everywhere and I agree for the most part. It has really nice natural finish and it lasts really well on my skin even after working out and wearing a mask for extended periods of time. It's quite affordable and they have a very decent shade range so I am a big fan.

The concealer kinda let me down and I just don't think it's for me shade-wise or texture-wise. It's very pale which is partially my fault but it's also quite hard to shade match online. But even then the coverage isn't quite there and the texture is quite dry and becomes more drying as you wear it. If you don't have very dry under-eyes like myself it might not matter to you. But for me it just wasn't it. The weartime didn't impress me either.

So overall, I would recommend the foundation if you're into medium coverage and very natural finish that wears well and I would probably pass on the concealer if you're not into natural but matte formula that is slightly dry.
