MAXFACTOR | HEALTHY SKIN HARMONY MIRACLE FOUNDATION | FIRST IMPRESSIONS | WEAR TEST

Maxfactor always had that grandma vibe to me that I cannot get rid of. However, their foundations are a thing for sure and there are usually pretty positive reviews of them anywhere you look. I've never tried any and therefore, I was stoked to see one of them pop up in the sales stand.

The Maxfactor Healthy Skin Harmony Miracle Foundation has a very long name. Mine is a little beaten up, that's why it was on sale, and I got it for 99 Crowns. Regularly, this foundation costs around 250-300 Crowns, which is quite a difference. Maxfactor is one of the more pricey drugstore brands, but it's not too much for a foundation in general.

I have the shade Light Ivory 40, which was the only shade I could get and also the lightest shade the drugstore had at all. Which is quite surprising to me, because it's more like a summer shade to me and even then it might be a bit too dark. I cannot find this foundation on the official Maxfactor website, but notino.cz has 7 shades, different websites have 8. That's not a lot and I'm not sure if it's the whole shade range. However if it is, shame on you Maxfactor.

The packaging is a glass bottle with a pump and a lid. I didn't notice this as first, but there's actually a lock on the pump, which is great and not many foundations have that. That makes it actually really good for travelling. I also appreciate that you can see the product through the bottle. There's 30ml of product, which is a standard amount. The foundation also has SPF 20, which is great. I couldn't find much information about the foundation other than it's supposed to prevent unwanted shine and it should make you look healthy and glowy. It's also hydrating and boosted with vitamins.

Compared to my other foundations, it's leaning more pink and it's a little darker. The opacity is decent compared to the other ones I swatched here. To be honest the match is a little questionable. I can usually make a cool-toned foundation work, but it can look a little too pink/orange on me. This one is probably more a summer shade for me personally and that's actually handy because it has SPF.

Wear test

Again, I'm still stuck at home like the rest of the world and therefore, I'll do a wear test just for one day. I'll try to go more into detail on how it applies, feels and wears so you can get as much information as possible.

I used a sponge to apply it because the brush application didn't seem very smooth. Not every foundation applies well with a brush. I took a photo with the foundation on one side of my face so you can maybe see the difference. The coverage is light-medium I would say but it evens out my skintone and covers the redness quite well. It looks very natural. It also builds very well. It's not very visible in the photo because it looks very natural and it's really hard to capture on camera even with a good light.

I used a cream contour with it today, to see the blendability and I feel like it was lifting the foundation a little bit at certain areas. So maybe work a little faster than usual to blend everything seamlessly. The powder applied well on top, it doesn't look cakey or heavy.

Wear time 10 hours

Except from the parts of foundation which I rubbed off myself, it looks pretty decent. This is one of those foundations which looks better warmed up on the skin, when it sinks in a little bit. It doesn't budge anywhere which is quite rare for me. It also kept the pigmentation of all other base products at a reasonable level, sometimes at the end of the day I look crazy with a several stripes on my cheeks. I really like how it looks and I would be probably able to wear it a couple more hours for sure without looking too worn out.

It's completely gone from half of my nose and above my lip, because I just keep getting sick all the time from the temperature differences. However, the transition between my skin and the foundation aren't too harsh and that usually what I look for in a foundation I wear often. I know myself and my poor immunity, so I need it to have seamless transitions when something happens. I would say that this one passed the test pretty well.

Final thoughts

This foundation reminds me a lot of the Physician's Formula Healthy Foundation, which is my favorite foundation of all time. It has natural finish, light-medium coverage, it blends well and makes the skin look like skin. This one doesn't look as beautiful right after the application but I still like how it looks and lasts overall.

I would say that for the price, it's quite a good foundation and it also has SPF, which is a great advantage especially in the summer. Its lasting ability seems very good from what I can tell after a couple wears and for me this would be a great everyday foundation, which can ho glam. You can build it up and make it a full glam look or you can just apply a bit and have a nice light base for the day. So I would recommend it if you're thinking about investing into it. It's not the cheapest but I would say that the quality is worth the money.

Have you tried this foundation? Let me know your thoughts in the comments and thanks for reading!
