MADE BY MITCHELL | BLURSH | REVIEW

We live in the prime time for liquid blushes. Cream makeup products are making a comeback and they are everywhere and I love them to be honest. And there's nothing that's going to stop me from trying a new liquid blush on the market. Excuse me, BLURSH.

Mitchell Halliday recently launched his own brand Made By Mitchell and gave us a selection of incredible products to choose from. The products that caught my eye from the start were the liquid blushes. Blursh is a liquid blush with liquid to powder finish which shouldn't separate your makeup and should have some nice blurring properties. It can be layered under the base makeup or on top. It comes in 6 shades in total and one retails for 14 Pounds for 6ml of product.

I picked up two shades because I couldn't help myself, so I got the shade Mango Daiquiri and Peach Sugar. They are both very orange-toned, both in its own way. But they are exactly the tones that I love and struggle to find when it comes to liquid blushes. I like the shade selection because there are shades that would work on both pale and deeper skintones. I think that Mitchell's collections are going to be quite inclusive.

When I first opened these I was really surprised at how large and lux is the packaging. It feels really heavy and expensive and I love the neon yellow details. Both shades I got swatch very pigmented and blend out really well on your hand.

Mango Daiquiri is really everything I ever wanted in an orange blush. It's beautiful and vibrant and really gives you incredible glow. But it's really easy to go overboard with it. I love that it's such a unique shade with a bit of golden shimmer.

Peach Sugar is a little more muted but it still has that true peach undertone which is so hard to come across. I don't think this shade has any shimmer but it looks very fresh and youthfull.

The application

Wearing Made By Mitchell Mango Daiquiri Blursh

Applying these is a bit of a process. I checked Mitchell's Instagram to see how he applies these blushes and honestly I'm probably just bad at it. I got the MF1 Cheek Stippler brush which should be perfect for applying these as it's recommended on the website. But instead I just disrupted my foundation with it and the blush went everywhere. Try one didn't go very well. I ended up looking like a talking orange on a Zoom call. I managed to blend it out at the end with my stippling brush, but it wasn't great.

Second try I actually decided to take the MF1 brush again and actually use it more for stippling. Initially I thought it's a little too dense to be a stippling brush but turns out, people usually think when they develop products so I should've believed in the brush a bit more. This time I actually managed to keep my base in place and the blush blended out quite easily.

One thing about these is that they're really pigmented so a little goes a very long way. I struggled with this for some time because it felt like too little products putting just one dab on my face. Turns out that one dab is really all you need. The thing is that these don't sheer out that much so you still get a lot of pigment even after you blend out the blush.

Wear test

I am wear testing so many things today that I hope I won't forget any of them but Blursh had to be in the mix. I really want to see how it looks after hours of wear because a lot of blushes is fading on me at the end of the day.

I went with Peach Sugar and applied just two tiny dabs on my cheeks and blended it out with stippling motion by the MF1 Made By Mitchell brush. The results were a lot better than the previous times I've tried this application but I still need to work on the placement a little bit. I feel like the blush is a little too low. However, the blush is clearly there and you can see it probably even in the photo. It's very hard to capture blush on pictures. But there's that rosey flush of color.

Wear time 11 hours

Usually, after 11 hours blushes just leave the chat and are nowhere to be found. In the picture you can see that it's not as flawless and smooth as in the morning photo but it's still there. The intensity is slightly lower but you know what? I don't think I have a blush that would last this long and still would be fully visible. Here you can clearly tell that there's still blush on my face and it didn't move at all. It also worked really well with the rest of my complexion.

Final thoughts

Are these worth the try? It took me a minute to get used to the formula and master the application to some extend but I really like these. If you love liquid blush I would absolutelly recommend them as they are truly a great formula and I love the shades available. Especially Mango Daiquiri is such a special shade. I have very happy with the shades I selected.

I also think that the price is quite right and you really need just a tiny amount of product to make these pop. So I can imagine that I will be using these for a very long time.
