FOREO | BEAR MINI | REVIEW

Is it time for me to start spending on skincare gadgets that are super expensive but might work? Yeah, I think we're getting there. The whole pandemic situation got me really spendy on all kinds of things but since I'm pretty busy and I don't wear makeup everyday anymore I really got into my skincare. After getting my Christmas bonuses as work...I just wanted to do a big purchase and got myself this.

The Foreo Bear Mini is a microcurrent facial toning device which also uses T-Sonic pulsations to give your face a good workout. This little device is 5433 Crowns at notino.cz but I was lucky enough to get it for about 4000 Crowns on sale. Let's go over what it does and why you might want it.

It's uses microcurrent to tone the face. Does it sound dangerous? Well, it is. The Foreo Bear devices feature anti-shock system that makes the procedure a lot more safe and it claims to work faster than other devices on the market. I got the Bear Mini because it was cheaper and also because I just enjoy smaller devices. It is more targeted than the Foreo Bear but I don't really mind and after using it for a month I can say that I like the size and I feel like I can get a lot more precise with it.

You have to use it with a conductive gel or a serum. I got the sample of Foreo's special serum but to be honest it wasn't that mindblowing so I read a little and started using aloe gel with it from Holika Holika. It works perfectly fine as well, you always have to be careful and apply enough product so the device just slides accross the face without any tugging.

The device itself fits in a palm of my hand, it has two metal globes and it's made from silicone just like the other Foreo products. I have the lilac one and I love it. It comes with a charger, stand, serum sample and the device. It has the on/off button on one side which has little lights under it to indicate the microcurrent intensity. You can use it with an app and I feel like you have to pair it to verify the purchase but the Bear Mini doesn't have many facial routines on the app so I just looked up a couple videos and started using it on my own.

When you just turn it on the procedure lasts for about 3 minutes which is quite fine by me, it lasts well through the whole routine I created. On the packaging it said to use it once a day so I usually use it between removing my makeup and doing my skincare routine. I don't like the feelning of the residue aloe gel on my face so I usually cleanse after I'm done with the microcurrent. You also have to clean the device, I just use a little bit of soap and water and then pat it dry with a towel and let it airdry in the little stand I have on my table.

I charged it once when I got it because the app told me to but I haven't charged it since and I think it's still about 70% full which is great. It's also nice for travelling because it's so small. It's just a little odd when people ask you why do you have a face vibrator. Speaking of which, you can turn the T-Sonic pulsations off if you want even in the manual mode.

Demo

I decided to record a little demo so you can actually see me use the device. I usually apply the aloe gel with a skincare brush because I don't like my hand to be dirty when I use the device. I usually start around my mouth, then I go along the cheekbones, lift the cheeks, along the jawline and then stripe by stripe on my forehead and slightly push up the brows from above. That's usually enough in the three minutes, I repeat every move about 5 times. I am still new to this so if you have any suggestions on using the microcurrent that might help me, please let me know.

I looked up several videos and kind of created my own little routine that I do. I am still trying to improve the technique and come up with more moves I can do. I started with the least powerful setting at first to see how my skin reacts to the current and now I think I'm using it at three which is the highest and it's completely fine. I did not have any reaction to the microcurrent and I also didn't get shocked.

One month later

So I've been using the Foreo Bear Mini daily for a month and I would like to share some thoughts.

First of all, it's very relaxing but it takes a little practise to get the right time and place because it doesn't really slot well into my regular skincare routine. I usually end up doing the microcurrent in the afternoon after my workout. However, often I'll just do it whenever there's nothing on my face and I feel like it's a good time. I like that it takes just a couple minutes and you can kind of multitask if you want.

The aloe gel was a great choice in my opinion because it doesn't soak up as fast as a serum. I tried using a hyaluronic acid serum but it was gone too fast and the Bear wasn't gliding across the face anymore. So I sticked with the aloe gel and I'm pretty happy with that.

Main thing everyone wants to know, is there any difference? Let me tell you that this little device is not going to give you a new jawline or cheekbones but I would say that there is a difference for sure. My cheekbones feel more "out there" and overall the face feels a little less drippy. I've been trying to lift my brows a little but that will take a little more time.

I'm not sure if there's that much of a visible difference but I can feel the difference when I touch my face and examine the bone structure. I would also say it helps with fine lines on my forehead. Hopefully I will be able to see even more results after I use it for even longer period of time.

Final thoughts

Do you need this device? I don't think so. I honestly don't think that I need it but I was so curious about it that I just had to pick it up when it was on sale to at least save some money. I probably would've bought it anyway.

Now, I like to be very extra with my skincare so I am very much enjoying the Foreo Bear Mini and I like using it and it makes a difference to me. I am 25, so no, I don't think that I really need it now but maybe the longterm results will be even better...who knows. I think it could be a nice gift if you want something pricey for someone who's into skincare.

But honestly I think it is very expensive just like other Foreo products and it took a fat Christmas bonus paycheck and a lot of deciding to get it even for a such a spender like me. But if you feel like you can invest, go get it. It's fun to use, you probably will see a difference and you'll feel super extra about your skincare routine. I've been using it daily since I got it and it's been a while so I am happy that the excitement lasted. Or you can just pick up any other Foreo gadgets for better skin, there are a couple reviews here as well.

Have you ever used microcurrent on your face? Let me know in the comments and thanks for reading!
