You may have seen my post on the new Essence collection which is all about clean makeup and natural ingredients and the no-makeup makeup looks. So here we'll look at the "foundation of this collection".
The Essence Hello, Good Stuff Tinted Beauty Cream has 90% of natural ingredients and promises 24h long hydration. It contains cactus blossom water and hyaluron and apparently it should have light coverage and have lightweight formula. It's also vegan.
I think there are just two shades but with limited edition product and tinted moisturizer formula it doesn't surprise me that much. But I think there could be at least like 10 shades. I got the shade 10 Light which is the lightest. It retails for about 120 Crowns, I wasn't able to find the price anywhere, and you get 30ml of product.
It comes in a plastic squeezy tube that's nontransparent and it's one of those tubes that love to leak as soon as you open them so I'm not the biggest fan of the packaging. The description is on there as well as the information about no added microplastic particles, mineral oils or parabens in the formula. The product smells really nice, subtle sweet flowery scent, but there's fragrance in it so I assume it's not just the ingredients.
At first I thoughts it's a little too thick, it feels like a heavier moisturizer on my hand. But that doesn't really tell much about how it's going to feel on my face. The pigmentation is better than I expected, it's light-medium for sure. I don't mind the colormatch but I think I could go a little lighter. I do appreciate the neutral undertone.
I wear products like this on the daily basis so I hope to find a new favorite. I'll probably get a lot of use out of this product even if it doesn't last too long...perfect for a Zoom call anyway!
Wear test
I applied the "foundation" on top of my trusty primers I wear all the time. There's a primer in the Hello, Good Stuff collection but I didn't want to use a primer I don't know. I went for a more hydrating one that I wear on the daily. I applied it with a fuzzy sponge and the coverage was actually pretty nice. It's light-medium and it feels more lightweight than I thought it would.
I used a cream bronzer and a cream blush and they just melted into the formula. The powder also sits nicely on the foundation and overall I really like the look of it. The one question now is how long is it gonna last? And the other is how it's going to react to my skin.

Wear time 11 hours
I mean, I could go longer than 11 hours but well here we go. First of all, I went to the gym so my nose area is really bad since I sweat under my glasses a lot. But that's nothing new. Also the area around my mouth suffered a great deal because I had a sandwich for lunch and it just went everywhere and I also did some gloss swatches so my lips aren't having it either.
On the positive side, you cannot see the transition from these bald spots I just named almost at all. Around the nose, sure, that's always the case but around my mouth and on my chin you cannot tell if I'm wearing the foundation or not. It doesn't look cakey, it's nor separating at all which is a sign of good hydration for my skin. It's also not budging at all which I'm surprised by. I thought for sure because of the thicker formula that it's going to budge. But it just kind of melted into my skin and now it is my skin. It's hard to explain it.
It still feels like nothing and looks very smooth. It's just a little bit sticky on my forehead and I see that in that area I also have dust particles and some stuff that probably cought themselves there when I was exercising. Well that's not a good look. But overall I am very impressed.
Final thoughts
In the last couple weeks Essence came out with two natural makeup complexion products and they are both BOMB! Both the Pretty Natural Foundation and this Tinted Beauty Cream are actually amazing products! This one has a little less coverage, seems heavier and applies a little thicker. But overall I really like them both. And they also both wear amazing.
Back to the star of the show here. I am very impressed. For a drugstore tinted moisturizer this is a really good product. I would say this might last better than my usual favorites (which are also drugstore but more expensive). I am very sorry that there's such a bad shade range because I think this could be a great product for many people. It's a perfect everyday tint for those hectic mornings when you need a little something and you might as well just apply it with your fingers and call it a day. The longevity of this is amazing and the hydration is real people, my skin can tell when there's nothing but dryness at the end of the day and this product just keeps the moisture in.
So overall, I really recommend this if you want to try it out and it's something you're looking for. If the shade range doesn't hit the spot, go for the other new foundation, I would say you cannot go wrong.
