ISANA | BEAUTY DROPS | HYALURON | KOLLAGEN | RETINOL | FIRST IMPRESSIONS

I love and collect all makeup on this planet but skincare has a special place in my heart forever. I love the world of skincare and trying out serums and new products that could do wonders for my face is my daily piece of work. So I was very excited at Rossmann the other day.

Isana is Rossmann's brand which makes all sorts of things including skincare. I've tried majority of their serums and honestly, they are some of the best serums in the drugstore in my opinion. They are usually very cheap and work very well for my skin. This time, I saw a new stand with a limited edition Beauty Drops in three versions. Of course, I took all three, because it's me. And I was beyond excited.

There was a time, not so long ago, when serums weren't as widely available and I had trouble getting my hands even on hyaluronic acid. This is thankfully not the case anymore, but there are products which aren't as common, for example Retinol. This was one of the main reason why I got so excited, because I probably never saw retinol in drugstore in any shape or form.

This line of Beauty Drops has three products, as I mentioned, and they are Hyaluron, Kollagen a Retinol. They are each 109 Crowns and you get 25ml of product. They come in a plastic bottle with a dropper, just like majority of serums. I got super excited about the packaging. I always travel with ton of bubblewrap, because all my serums are in glass bottles. These will solve that problem forever, because I will just use these for travelling once I use them up. Love it! A good piece of reusable packaging really gets me going. They are also all formulated without microplastics and they are vegan.

All of these have the same recommendations which say, apply twice a day 1-2 drops of serum and tap it into the skin on your face and neck. You should also avoid applying them near eyes and mouth area. Now let's look at them one by one.

Hyaluron

The Isana Beauty Drops Hyaluron Serum comes in a blue packaging. It's meant for deep hydration and correcting wrinkles. It contains hyaluronic acid and aloe vera and it's suitable for all skin types. It's pale blue and smells quite fresh. The consistency is liquidy and runny but it doesn't feel like water on the skin. It's quite potent, like any other hyaluronic acid serum I've tried. They always have that specific feel to them. They also sometimes leave the skin feeling a little sticky if you apply too much.

Kollagen

The Isana Beauty Drops Kollagen Serum comes in a green packaging. It should help to firm and smooth the skin out. It has collagen in it which comes from seaweed and it's for all skin types. It doesn't really have a strong smell to it. It's very runny and has a more slippery thinner texture than the hyaluron serum. It also leaves a little bit of a tacky finish.

Retinol

The Isana Beauty Drops Retinol Serum comes in a pink packaging. It should help with wrinkles and should make your skin more glowy and nourished. It contains retinol, vitamin E and grapefruit extract. This one should also be suitable for any skin type, but make your research on retinols before you try it. It's not for everybody. It smells just lightly of something fresh and grapefruit. It's very runny, again, but I would say this one has the thinnest consistency of them all. It soaks in really fast but stings a tiny bit. After you apply it, you can feel your skin getting tighter a bit, that's how all retinols I tried feel.

Use test

I've been using these for some time, but since they are limited edition, I don't want to hesitate with this post too much. I still want you to have a chance to buy them so my opinions aren't as 100% as they would be with products I use for months.

What I noticed is that the Retinol serum does sting a little bit on my face for a minute right after I apply it. It's a sensation similar to my Inkey List Retinol, but I can't tell if it feels the same. This one is thinner in consistency, so I would say it feels better upon application. After time I can feel the familiar tightening sensation on my face. However, I don't know the exact percentage of ingredients in these products so I cannot say which one is stronger. It is irritating a little bit, so maybe if your skin is very sensitive skip this one. But that applies to all retinoids in general.

The Hyaluron serum is a winner in my book, it reminds me of the hyaluronic acid serums from The Ordinary and Revolution Skincare. It's pretty much the same thing, it soaks in fast, leaves your skin smooth and hydrated and a little tacky. It's better to press in than to swipe. I really like this one.

The Kollagen serum is nice as well, but I have collagen only in one serum and I cannot really tell what it does to my face in general. I use it with my "anti-ageing group" of products such as peptides and very nourishing night creams, but I cannot tell the real difference. I really like how fast is soaks into the skin, because I always use multiple serums, so I like the ones with very thin consistency, because you can layer on top of them easier. I feels nice on the skin, but I can't really say much more about it. But I also don't have many wrinkles so maybe I don't see many results because I don't have the targeted problem for this serum.

Final thoughts

I really like Isana serums, they rarely let me down and I am very happy with these as well. For a good price, you get a good amount of well formulated product and there are multiple options you can choose from depending on your skin concerns.

I would mostly recommend the Hyaluron serum, because it feels same in quality to the other hyaluronic acid serums I've tried and I really like it. The Retinol serum would be second, because retinol products are hard to get by and I would say it does work, I can feel a similar sensation on my face to other retinol serums I've tried. And the Kollagen serum is probably more for people with wrinkles but considering the quality of the previous two, I would say you should give it a shot if you want to try a serum that should help you with wrinkles.

Overall, I'm thrilled that Isana is keeping up the skincare standard. I also really love the packaging, the serums are very travel friendly. That's a very rare thing for a serum, because they are usually in glass containers and I will reuse these 100%. Go pick them up, while they're still available and you'll have some fun new skincare to try in quarantine. And if you want to start with serums in general and step up your skincare game, I would go for the Hyaluron one and try it out how it works in your routine. It's going to add some nice hydration boost for sure.

Have you tried any Isana serums? Let me know in the comments if you like them as much as I do and thanks for reading!
